What's going on with TV Presenters these days? First Davina McCall with her daft 'I don't know what to do with my arms' syndrome, and now others following suit.
I can't bear to watch Big Brother. Not only because I'd rather go out and live my life as opposed to watching others sat on a sofa wasting theirs, but also because I find it nauseating to watch Davina flap her arms around in that stupid sealion manner. With her elbows glued to her waist she proceeds to talk with her arms depicting some sort of story of their own. Has she not had training in TV presenting? You'd be within your rights to expect someone like me appearing on tv for the first time and have no idea where to put my hands comfortably. Has no one pointed out to her what a twat she looks?
Well it would seem that everyone's doing it! Perhaps in the media world it could even be a new trend. I've come to this conclusion from watching 'Stars in their Eyes - Kids' (of course I happened to merely stumble across the programme purely by accident...). And there was loverly Cat Deeley but hang on, oh no.. she's doing that flappy arm business! Yes, Cat was stood there elbows firmly stuck to her side, over expressing herself by waving her arms around like a looney.
Well I don't care if this is the 'in' way to look. I went through childhood and then through puberty feeling awkward when talking and wondering what the hell to do with my arms. Now I've matured and can find places for my arms to hang without looking geeky, and can express myself comprehensively and adequately with the minimum of hand/arm movement, I refuse to tie them to my waist and flap like a sealion!!
