Im rapidly losing my faith in humanity. People just dont seem to care any more. Selfish attitudes and a lack of common decency seem to be the theme of the 00s and this is demonstrated better than anywhere else on the roads.
<*dv_1*> When we learn to drive, we have the rules of the road forced down our throats until we vomit the contents of the Highway Code and plead with our instructors not to ask us any more about stopping distances. We pass the test, and one by one, we throw each and every one of these rules out of the car window like a discarded cigarette or empty beer can. And I see no real problem with this. Who cares if your hands arent exactly in the ten-to-two position while youre driving or you dont make every single one of the five-hundred checks youre suppose to make before you make a simple maneuver? Its not right, but its ok.
What irritates me is the inconsiderate butt-cakes that are let out on the roads. Im talking about the people that dont bother to indicate when theyre coming off of a roundabout, even though they can see that by signalling theyd be able to release a queue of traffic. Im talking about the people that park in a stupid place, like in the middle of the road on double yellow lines, and then put on their hazard lights as if it makes their selfish act justifiable. Im talking about the slow-moving vehicles such as farm vehicles that decide to go out on main roads in the middle of rush hour what farming emergency is so important that you cant wait until after 9am to resolve it? Your pitchfork needs sharpening? You need to buy a new flat cap?
Its not difficult to see how people develop road rage when so many inconsiderate people are allowed to roam the roads. But its easy to criticise. Fun too! However, I believe that I have a solution to this problem.
<*dv_4*> Even as we sit here right now, looking at our computer screens, dedicated individuals are working on the next generation of cars with computer navigation, hovering capabilities and the oh-so-important ass-warmers under the seats. I say, skip all of that and work on the one thing that all modern cars need an anti-stupidity device. With this is place; drivers could be allowed to make up to three (and Im being lenient here) stupid, inconsiderate mistakes. After the third moronic act, an ejector seat would be activated, launching the driver up into the air and out of the vehicle. Trust me, if you get thrown out of your car enough times, youre going to eventually start to put a little thought into your driving.
