Is it just me? Or does anyone else get far far far too excited when they see their hometown, somewhere they maybe once visited, or even an object they own on TV? Today Andre, the 'errant' seal in the river Leven (pronounced Leeven, not Levin, by the way, Lizo!) was featured on Newsround, complete with footage of the Balloch locals looking blankly at it. How I jumped and pointed! nudging my sister in a 'Ey, ey, our mum lives there!' sort of way. I am guilty of doing this far too much, I actually watch River City (sorry folks, this is a Scotland exclusive!) in the hope that Shellsuit Boab may decide to take a wander into town, and might actually pass my local Kwicksave! (It's filmed in my hometown dontcha know!) It doesn't stop there, I have been known to keep watching so much random tat, because 'That girl in the background, see her? over there! are they my Morgan jeans she's got on? fancy that!' then sit quite quite pleased with myself! If I'm sitting in someone's house, and happen to notice that they too have some storage jars from woolies circa 1974 just like mine, I just can't keep it to myself! I once actually had to stop myself from stopping a fellow commuter and telling her that I had the exact same shoes as her! in pink. <*dv_0*> I worry that if I ever move to London or somewhere well known, I wouldn't know where to start! All those landmarks I've walked past being showed on every TV Drama, and so many people who may have the same handbag as me... I may burst. Does anyone share this ridiculous habit? Do you?! So do I! Mental! Oh. And watch out for trailers at the cinema for the new Julia Stiles film... see that pink dressing gown she's wearing? I've got that!! |
