When I was 15 and should have been studying for my Standard Grades and creating a proper bond with my family, where was I? well, I was in the streets of course! With a fringe the dimensions of a coke can and twice as rigid, the biggest Perspex rings Miss Selfridge could stock and an attitude that reeked of wee.
I was a Ned.
There, I've finally admitted it. a Ned, a Kev*, a townie (delete as regionally appropriate) that was I. With my faux guttural accent, 10 Kensitas Club and a bottle of Merrydown.

Today I sit with my companions:

So is my 'new' acceptable lifestyle just an evolved form of Ned-dom? Of course there's no Argos jewels to be seen, but its scarily similar. Large pack of people, same 'interests' but just now with money, laminated floors and stainless steel kitchens. There's the 'in' alcohol, fags and recreational drugs, the so so similar clothes... and of course the inevitable search for the member of the opposite sex! But nowadays, there's just no longer the need to hide any of it from mum! hence, not quite so exciting anymore...
