Lotus Lounge | <*dv_1*>12 Blenheim Terrace, St John's Wood, London Tel: 02076257036 | <*dv_3*>One way to describe Lotus Lounge is bijou and compact! The actual restaurant itself is only about the size of a corner shop, but caters for more with a large outdoor covered area to the front, which is fully heated. Lotus Lounge was a new concept on me, I must say - Indian Tapas. But I have to say it does work very well, having many smaller dishes to pick and mix <*dv_4*> rather than just one main course makes for interesting and varied eating. The food is very well prepared and presented, with enough dishes, both traditional and speciality, to keep most people happy (however don't come here wanting a hot curry and beer night - it's not that kind of place).
The staff are extremely pleasant and welcoming, which in such a cosy atmosphere is very conducive to a relaxing night out. However, I have a bit of a complaint (or two) - they guy that served us, although a really nice bloke, doesn't write any of the dishes down and relies on memory. Although he is right most of the time, a 90% hit rate isn't that great when it means forgotten dishes. Although these don't actually tend to turn up on the bill at the end of the night it's still a bit irksome. Also the seats in the main dining area, they have gone for a kind of authentic Indian feel, but the seats are so uncomfortable, when it's time to leave you can't actually feel anything from the waist down! But these are minor quibbles and wouldn't stop me from going again.

Prices are reasonable and not what you might expect for the St John's Wood area.
