Catch Me If You Can

<*dv_2*>Who would have believed it, that gimp with the floppy hair (Leonardo DeCaprio) can act after all. I realise that he has done things like "The Basketball Diaries" and "This Boys Life" but both of those were a long time ago. That plus the fact that I have a chip on my shoulder about one of my ex's fancying him. You try to concentrate on the high life when you've got a 3ft square poster beaming down on you.

From the stunning opening credits (Oscar winning I believe) the film seems to intend on being good, rather than a sort of chocolate cake that's been left out in the sun for a couple of days. Tom Hanks, Christopher Walken and a few other quality actors sprinkled into a true story seems to have worked wonders. Amazingly with such accomplished co-stars the stage is completely stolen by my mate Leo (or gimp as he'll be referred to in the rest of the review). The gimp pulls off the Karate Kid fountain of youth process with aplomb, not only looking the required 15 years old but doing it so well that you actually forget that he is pushing 40 (close enough!)

<*dv_4*> The film delightfully skips through his heady rein of terror as he bluffs his way through many different jobs, all the while skimming a rather plentiful living from the various foolish corporations. It made me want to go out and pretend to be a RyanAir pilot and fly all around Britain (maybe even as far as Dublin!!!) but unfortunately I didn't have any model airplanes from my youth. I think I melted them all when I was going through my pyromaniac phase (the pills work very well by the way).

<*dv_3*> You know the way you feel when you wake up at dawn and its a beautiful sunny morning. You go into the kitchen to find that your bread isn't mouldy and there is bacon in the fridge. Well this film isn't like that but it is still a damn fine film and well worth ingesting. Although you might get a bit of indigestion from the gimp if you don't cook him right (Gas Mark 6 for 2 hours)

Definitely the Jammy-Dodger of the film world
